Job Summary

The Department of Communication and Media at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, through the College of Literature Science and the Arts (LSA) seeks outstanding tenure-track assistant professors to join our faculty through the 2026-27 LSA Collegiate Fellows Program (LCFP). The LCFP aims to recruit and hire exceptional early-career faculty who have engaged in efforts to increase access and inclusion in higher education through their teaching and mentoring, AND/OR, research and scholarship, AND/OR service and engagement.

We encourage applicants from a wide range of institution types as we seek to diversify where we hire from. For more details on the LSA Collegiate Fellows Program, please visit the program's website.

The LCFP, launched in 2016, has hired more than 60 outstanding faculty who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, have engaged in efforts to build a broadly diverse and equitable scholarly and learning community. The early-career program offers two pathways in LSA departments: an immediate tenure-track appointment, or a one- to two-year postdoctoral fellowship followed by a tenure-track position. Successful candidates will receive dedicated research time, mentorship, research and travel funding, and cohort- and program-based professional development opportunities related to scholarship and teaching.
