The Instrumentation & Controls EIT/Coordinator position includes engineering tasks with varying levels of complexity, assigned by a Project Engineer or Project Manager. The EIT may work independently on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects. Other tasks may include:

  • Check manufacture's drawings and perform engineering calculations.
  • Work on design layouts, verify code compliance, perform quality checks, meet project schedules and budgets, and coordinate with other disciplines as required.
  • Typical design work involves power distribution, motor control, lighting, power system analysis and grounding.
  • Depending on project size, may supervise designers and CAD operators. Projects include power, industrial and institutional facilities.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and apply strong communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Display attention to accuracy and be detail-oriented.
  • Participate in field reviews or construction observation.
  • Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and professional work experience.
  • Some travel may be involved.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm is preferred.
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED is desired but not required.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Preference given to local candidates.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
  • Knowledgeable of Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Wonderware and/or Interlution
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • May need to travel
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
