Job Title: Research & Development Engineer
Pay Range: $75K–$100K per year
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8hr shift
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Research & Development Engineer to drive innovation across our cannabis product portfolio. This role plays a key part in developing new products and improving existing formulations and processes, with a focus on quality, compliance, and scalability. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, chemists, and manufacturing teams to bring market-ready products to life.
*** Hands-on experience in a similar role at successful cannabis companies is the most important qualification for this position. A degree is preferred but not required.***
Key Responsibilities- Product Development: Design, develop, and test new cannabis products and formulations, including pre-rolls, vapes, and gummies.
- Innovation: Lead innovation in product design, ingredients, and manufacturing techniques to create differentiated, market-leading products.
- Research: Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer insights to inform R&D strategy.
- Process Optimization: Improve existing products and manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, consistency, and sustainability.
- Compliance: Ensure all R&D activities and production processes meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to translate concepts into scalable, compliant products aligned with company goals.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed R&D documentation, including SOPs, formulations, test results, and compliance records.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct and oversee testing to ensure product safety, efficacy, and consistency.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of R&D experience, preferably within the cannabis industry or related fields (pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, consumer packaged goods).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field preferred (not required).
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of cannabis extraction methods, product formulation, and manufacturing processes.
- Innovation Focus: Demonstrated success bringing new products to market with a creative, solutions-oriented approach.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations and compliance standards.

Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information. - Team-Oriented: Proven ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
