Job Location: Ann Arbor, MI (fully onsite)

Duration: 12-month contract

Pay Rate: $30-40/hr depending on years of experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience with engine calibration with OBD or emission development (e.g., tailpipe, US Federal and California regulations, etc.).
  • Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory/practice.
  • 1+ years of experience with MATLAB/Simulink/C or other programming language.
  • Experience investigating complex technical issues and creating technical solutions
  • A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Nice to have:

  • Advanced engineering degree.
  • Hands-on experience working on vehicles either through SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), previous co-op or similar experience.
  • Experience performing OBD or emission development for markets other than the US (e.g., Japan, Europe, China, etc.).
  • Japanese language skill proficiency a nice to have.
Job Overview

Insight Global is looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual Calibration Engineer, who has experience with engine emission or OBD development. This role's main responsibility is to work within the current team for tailpipe emissions or OBD development. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the objective to calibrate world class powertrains in America.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Execute engine control on-board diagnostics development activities as a member of a diverse calibration team to meet requirements for North America and global markets.
  • Complete engine calibration and testing in accordance with procedures to meet regulations and other market requirements.
  • Prepare and manage calibration and resource schedule to meet development deadlines with minimal supervision. Data collection, advanced data analysis, and preparation of technical reports.
  • Develop new procedures and tools for testing, data analysis, and calibration.
  • Build successful relationships with related vehicle departments.
