Reliance One, Inc. is seeking a Calibration Engineer to support competitor benchmarking and emission control system evaluation activities. This role will focus on investigating competitor vehicles, evaluating emission and OBD systems, conducting testing and analysis, and preparing technical documentation to support engineering and regulatory objectives.

Key Responsibilities- Investigate competitor vehicles’ emission control systems, including evaporative (EVAP) systems, and perform benchmarking to evaluate emission performance
- Investigate competitor OBD systems through repair manual surveys and/or vehicle evaluations
- Rent and prepare competitor vehicles for benchmarking tests, including necessary modifications and instrumentation
- Conduct test preparation, data collection, data analysis, and create technical reports on a regular basis
- Build strong working relationships with benchmarking technician groups, counter groups in Japan, and external laboratories
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Complete required internal technical and driving training necessary for job execution
- Perform software logic and value confirmation activities
- Coordinate with suppliers and external labs for testing and benchmarking activities
- Monitor and interpret regulatory trends and future direction from EPA, CARB, and other regulatory bodies to drive benchmarking strategy
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience in competitor benchmarking
- Excellent driving record
- Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory and practice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience investigating technical issues and developing effective technical solutions
- Emission, bench, drivability, or OBD calibration experience in conventional and/or hybrid powertrains
- Experience calibrating engine controls for markets outside the U.S. (Japan, Europe, China, etc.)
- Experience with Model-Based Design or calibration processes
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, VBA, etc.
- Proficiency in project management tools
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, C, and C++
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment
- Understanding of Emission and OBD regulations for U.S. and global markets
