Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Generation

Senior Electrical Engineer required to lead power generation design projects, provide client leadership, mentor engineers, manage marketing tasks, and deliver comprehensive design and engineer‑of‑record work within the utility scale and renewable energy sector.

• Lead teams for power generation design projects and act in a traditional Owner’s Engineering role.
• Mentor junior engineers and support client relationship management.
• Develop proposals, technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structures for RFP responses.
• Execute design and engineer‑of‑record work for power plant systems, including equipment specification and balance‑of‑plant designs.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Project Controller for project reviews.
• Assist in construction and equipment specification development.
• Oversee quality and compliance of power, distribution, protection, motor control, and grounding designs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical power generation and renewable energy design.
• Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by the local licensing board.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office and industry design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
• Experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with Electrical Power emphasis.
• 15+ years of experience in electrical power generation and renewable energy design.
• Field experience, including startup and commissioning.
• Experience in renewable energy (PV, BESS) and DER or microgrid projects.
• Previous experience with an engineering power consulting firm.
• Willingness to grow into a team lead or section manager role.
• Strong leadership and independent work skills for multi‑disciplinary or small teams.
• Extensive knowledge of three‑phase electrical power, protection and control design, grounding, lighting and safety systems.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls, especially DCS and PLC systems.
• Commitment to an employee‑owned culture and less than 10% travel.
