Mechanical​/Chemical EIT​/Coordinator

HDR is seeking a Power Engineer in Training (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical EIT) to join a Michigan-based Power Generation team that provides engineering consulting services to utility, independent power producer, industrial, institutional and municipal sectors across the U.S. and abroad.

Primary location:
United States, Michigan, Ann Arbor.

• Performing engineering calculations and code reviews
• Sizing and selecting materials and equipment
• Participating in site visits and surveys
• Developing piping & instrument drawings
• Developing equipment and piping arrangement drawings
• Developing water mass balances
• Reviewing manufacturers drawings and submittals
• Developing procurement and construction specifications
• Performing bid evaluations
• Evaluating existing systems and equipment
• Technical/report writing
• Participating in team meetings
• Communicating with equipment vendors
• Processing of engineering submittals, and other similar tasks as assigned
• Thermal cycle/heat balance development
• Preparing equipment layouts
• Feasibility study development
• Project design basis development
• Economic lifecycle analyses
• Technology assessments
• Coordination of cost estimating and schedule development resources to support project analyses and reports
• Some travel may be required
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office
