Driveline Systems Design Engineer

Location: Ann Arbor, MI

• Creating validated 3D models, 2D drawings, and supplier spec sheets utilizing the standard design process.
• Leading Design Reviews for assigned parts to demonstrate how the design achieves its function and targets.
• Developing counter‑measures to gaps such as cost, mass, durability, strength, and warranty rate based on data and engineering mindset.
• Building relationships with key stakeholders (such as vehicle design, TMC driveline design, supplier development teams, purchasing, and assembly plants).
• Managing NA suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery of quality parts in line with the requirements of each milestone.
• Benchmarking similar designs to improve customer experience and cost.

• 5+ years in automotive design/development, specifically in developing Transfer Cases, Differentials, Prop shafts, and Driveshafts.
• Demonstrable CAD skills and knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience in the detailed design and release of prototype and production component drawings and supplier spec sheets.
• Knowledge of typical automotive manufacturing methods (e.g., aluminum and iron castings, forgings, machining, thermoplastics, and rubber molding).
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of conventional, hybrid, and electrified drive lines.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Team‑oriented thinking and a "can‑do" attitude.
