Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the candidate functions as a technical specialist, building on experience and gaining deeper knowledge while working on larger and more complex assignments. The role may expand into other disciplines or functional areas.
Key Responsibilities- Learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies and procedures, applying them to assigned tasks.
- Develop and independently apply knowledge; comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks; support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Prepare increasingly complex engineering deliverables, perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection, gather and manage data, prepare complex engineering calculations and understand budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Resolve problems and provide direction and guidance as needed.
- Assign tasks to develop entry-level professionals and interns; coordinate with project leadership and other internal/external team members on less complex projects; interact with other disciplines on design details.
- Understand external client interests and drivers through regular interaction and communication, focus on internal client and project leadership needs, and provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
- Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
- Assist with performance management, recognition, and corrective actions; mentor entry-level professionals and interns as skills develop.
Steel and reinforced concrete design at power plants and/or industrial facilities.
Experience writing technical and/or construction specifications.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program in the applicant’s home country or country of practice, and a minimum of one year of related work experience.
