Job Description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Environmental Specialist for their client located in the Greater Saginaw-Midland-Bay City area. This position will play a critical role in ensuring that the company complies with all relevant environmental regulations and standards. This position will focus primarily on managing and improving the company’s wastewater treatment processes and air quality control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, with specific expertise in wastewater management and air quality monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Wastewater Management:
    • Monitor and evaluate wastewater treatment processes to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Collect, analyze, and report on wastewater samples, ensuring all discharge meets permit requirements.
    • Implement and oversee wastewater treatment improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
    • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop and optimize wastewater treatment systems.
  • Air Quality Control:
    • Monitor and assess air emissions from company facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
    • Conduct regular air quality sampling and analysis, maintaining detailed records of all findings.
    • Develop and implement air quality management plans to minimize emissions and improve overall air quality.
    • Work with internal teams to identify and mitigate sources of air pollution within the company.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in environmental regulations related to wastewater and air quality.
    • Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental inspections and audits related to wastewater and air quality.
    • Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with permits and environmental standards.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment:
    • Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects or changes in operations that may affect wastewater or air quality.
    • Provide recommendations for minimizing environmental impact and enhancing sustainability.
  • Training and Awareness:
    • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on best practices in wastewater management and air quality control.
    • Promote environmental awareness and responsibility across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in environmental management, with a focus on wastewater and air quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, particularly related to wastewater treatment and air quality control.
  • Experience with environmental sampling and analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using environmental monitoring software and tools.
  • Certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or similar are an asset.

Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $87,000.00 per year
