Staff Engineer - Geotechnical; Solar Focused​/Ann Arbor, MI

G2 Consulting Group is seeking a full-time staff engineer to join our geotechnical solar team in Ann Arbor. The role involves field testing, laboratory testing, and engineering report preparation for industrial-scale solar energy projects. Work is primarily outdoors at various sites nationwide, requiring extensive travel, typically 1-2 weeks per project.

Key responsibilities include soil boring logging, sample collection, pile load testing, electrical resistivity testing, and laboratory analysis such as C , soil thermal resistivity, unconfined compressive strength, and soil classification. The role also involves analyzing test data, performing engineering calculations, and developing foundation and roadway design recommendations.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and excellent driving record
• Preferred:
  Engineer in Training (EIT)
• Preferred: 3 months to 4 years of construction engineering experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills
• Self-motivated with good prioritization and time management
• Ability to lift up to 99 lbs and operate hand tools and hydraulic equipment
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including long overnight travel and working in challenging terrains
