Responsibilities
With minimal supervision, repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment and support systems of varying complexity at Michigan Medicine. This is an afternoon shift position, with the primary responsibility being preventative maintenance and repairs in UH, CVC, and CW ORs. Equipment responsibilities include OR tables and lights, infusion pumps, Bair Huggers, t‑pumps, exercise equipment, beds, patient monitoring systems, TV systems, and other equipment as assigned.
WorkHours & Location
Work hours are Monday - Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The primary job site is Michigan Medicine main campus.
Additional ResponsibilitiesWork performed is documented in the AIMS database system. Additional duties include identifying and preparing parts and materials necessary for repairs and preventive maintenance on assigned devices. Cross‑training for other Biomedical Engineering Technicians for expanded backup support is also required.
Qualifications- Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent military training.
- Knowledge and experience with advanced analog and digital electronics.
- Minimum of three years of experience in repairing and maintaining medical equipment, preferably in a hospital environment.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Paygrade: B2. This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
