Job Description:
- Contract role, full-time on site. There is a possibility of conversion to W-2 after a 1 to 2 month trial period.
- Unrestricted ability to travel/relocate within the continental U.S. (Location can change but is likely to be in the midwestern U.S.)
- Requires solid industrial construction project control and scheduling experience on very large projects, with an emphasis on hyper-scale data center construction
- High-level proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam software
- Excellent spoken and written English

AB Consulting GSS is a U.S.
-based supplier of experienced technical talent to the manufacturing and construction industries. A major client is asking us to provide a Sr. Construction Scheduling Engineer to assist with scheduling and control of mission-critical hyper-scale data center construction in the midwestern U.S.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Construction Scheduling Engineer (Scheduler) will work on site in a fast-paced construction environment under the direction of the client’s Assistant VP of Scheduling. The Scheduler will collaborate closely with the client’s construction and engineering teams to develop and manage comprehensive project schedules. You will be responsible for creating and updating schedules at various milestones, as project deliverables are completed, and as scopes of work are added.
Additionally, you will identify schedule risks and provide regular updates to key team members on the progress of project completion.
CONTRACT TYPE: 1099 Independent Contractor
LOCATION: This initial position will most likely be in the midwestern U.S. but jobs can be anywhere in the continental U.S. In order to be considered you must be highly willing and flexible to travel and work at the client’s site(s). Projects typically last 18 to 24 months.
START DATE: June 29, 2026
DURATION: 24 months with good chance of extension
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning and Strategy: Collaborate closely with the preconstruction manager, project managers, engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other project services staff to plan and optimize the project schedule from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.
Resource Management: Ensure that short-term and long-term project objectives are achieved. Create and manage schedule logic, constraints, realistic activity durations, and resource availability. Evaluate the effects of design changes and schedule delays. Communicate all schedule updates to company management and clients.
Risk Management: Evaluate the effects of design changes and schedule delays, identify risks and communicate to company management and clients. Identify critical path(s) and recommend ways to de-risk and improve the project schedule.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage in challenging discussions with the entire project team, including the Owner, General Contractor, AE, Subcontractors, and Suppliers. Interact with clients, attend regular meetings and present statistical reports.
Performance Monitoring: Track project progress through metrics and reporting, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing requirements or challenges.
Quality Assurance: Integrate detailed schedule fragments and make necessary sequencing adjustments as required.
Innovation and Improvement: Identify ways to optimize processes and improve project outcomes through innovative technologies or methodologies.
Overall, this role involves collaborating with various project stakeholders to plan and schedule projects, leading and engaging with the project team, managing resources and risks, communicating updates, monitoring performance, ensuring quality, and continuously seeking process improvements.
