This role focuses on the design, development, and testing of quantum photonic devices and systems, particularly in the areas of quantum communication, single-photon generation, and entanglement. The position involves both theoretical research and hands‑on experimental work, contributing to cutting‑edge advancements in applied quantum technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop quantum photonic devices and subsystems
  • Perform experimental characterization under varying environmental conditions (temperature, vibration, magnetic fields)
  • Develop and optimize single photon sources and integrate them into larger systems
  • Build and support quantum information test benches, including calibration and automation systems
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional research teams to deliver prototypes, publications, and IP
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and contribute to research best practices
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong understanding of quantum systems (entanglement, nonlinear states, spin physics)
  • Expertise in optical systems (laser systems, optical alignment, photon detection)
  • Hands‑on experience with photonics instrumentation and testing (fiber alignment, chip‑scale testing)
  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with integrated photonics design and simulation tools (Lumerical, COMSOL, CST, FDTD)
  • Knowledge of high-speed electronics, PCB design, and optoelectronic packaging
  • Familiarity with nanofabrication techniques (e‑beam lithography, etching)
