Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Electrical
In this role, you will lead electrical design and project coordination for high‑performance facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multidisciplinary team throughout the entire project’s development.
- Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding electrical systems.
- Assume the electrical lead on many projects.
- Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
- Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.
- Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
- Track the financial aspects of projects and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure completion within agreed parameters.
- Work with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed.
- Direct activities of other electrical engineering professionals and act as a mentor to staff members as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Strong preference given to candidates with water/wastewater experience.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
- Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
- Commitment to the employee‑owned culture is a must.
