Controls Engineer

We're partnering with an established OEM that designs and manufactures highly engineered production equipment used by leading manufacturers around the world. Due to continued growth, they're adding a Controls Engineer to their engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on challenging custom automation projects from concept through commissioning while collaborating with a talented group of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.

• Design and program PLC-based control systems using Siemens TIA Portal and Allen Bradley Studio 5000 / RSLogix
• Program and integrate Fanuc industrial robots
• Develop HMIs and machine automation solutions
• Commission new equipment and support machine startups
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade existing automation systems
• Integrate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, and industrial networks
• Work directly with customers to provide technical support and automation solutions
• Create technical documentation and participate in system validation and testing

• 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience
• Able to travel 50%
• Experience with industrial communication protocols including Ether Net/IP, Profinet, or Modbus
• Ability to troubleshoot complex industrial automation systems
• Willingness to travel occasionally for equipment startup and customer support
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
• Strong experience with:
  • Siemens TIA Portal
  • Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Fanuc Robot Programming

• SCADA experience
• Motion control programming
• Machine commissioning/start‑up experience
• Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Fanuc certifications
• Knowledge of NFPA 79, ISO 13849, or IEC 61508

This is more than a maintenance controls role. You'll work on custom automation equipment, solve complex engineering challenges, and see projects through from design to startup.
