Position: Tax Manager ( Hybrid )

Tax Manager (Hybrid)

A well-established CPA firm in Michigan is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee all tax-related activities, including planning, compliance, audit defense, and client relationship management. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, no billable hours, and a clear path for professional advancement.
Salary range: $110,000 – $160,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all tax functions, including planning, compliance, and audit defense.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed client tax projections and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Provide expert tax advice to clients and internal stakeholders, keeping abreast of tax law changes and their implications.
  • Collaborate with other members of the finance team to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and achieve organizational goals.
  • Participate in business development initiatives to promote the firm’s tax services to potential clients.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or CPA certification is a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax role, preferably in a managerial position.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional financial and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prepare and review financial statements and tax returns.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with a proven track record of maintaining and growing a client base.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex tax concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a commitment to professional development.
  • Proficiency in tax software and other accounting tools.
