Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join its expanding tax team. Position OverviewThe Senior Tax Associate will play a key role in preparing and reviewing complex individual income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, executives, business owners, and family office clients. The ideal Senior Tax Associate will possess strong technical tax expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and a desire to expand into tax planning and advisory responsibilities over time.
This position provides exposure to sophisticated tax situations, direct interaction with clients, and a clear pathway for advancement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review individual federal, state, and local tax returns (1040s)
- Manage high volumes of individual tax returns while maintaining exceptional accuracy
- Support the tax compliance needs of high-net-worth individuals and families
- Assist with proactive tax planning strategies and recommendations
- Analyze client financial information, tax documents, and supporting schedules
- Research tax issues and stay current on changing federal and state tax regulations
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and planning efficiencies
- Assist with tax projections and year-end planning initiatives
- Collaborate with wealth advisors, financial planners, attorneys, and other professional advisors
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters and information requests
- Assist with tax notices, audits, and regulatory correspondence as needed
- Deliver outstanding client service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- 3+ years of experience preparing individual income tax returns
- Extensive experience with Form 1040 preparation and related schedules
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines during busy seasons
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
- CPA license or CPA-track candidate
- Public accounting, family office, wealth management, or tax advisory experience
- Experience serving high-net-worth individuals and business owners
- Exposure to trusts, estates, partnerships, and closely held businesses
- Experience utilizing professional tax software platforms
