Talent Manager, Recruiter

The Associate Recruiter oversees the recruiting programs for UMCU including sourcing, relationship building, community awareness, campus presence and branding. Assists with candidate selection and assessment. Promotes a positive candidate experience and new team member onboarding experience. Maintains all related systems.
What you'll be doing in this role- Builds candidate sourcing in a variety of disciplines including Linked In, Indeed, college recruiting, recruitment agencies, government agencies, job sites, etc.
- Ensures presence at selected college campuses through partnerships with schools, professors, and career guidance teams.
- Recruits for all positions (regular, temporary, interns) including candidate sourcing, resume reviewing, and pre-screening.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations with hiring managers for candidates to interview.
- Meets with hiring manager to conduct recruitment assessment to determine needs, timing, set expectations and strategies
- Prepares and presents all job offers to candidates.
- Manages the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including the background check process and candidate assessments.
- Creates selection guides for all positions to include behavior based questions focusing on the positions desired competencies.
- Supports and helps develop the selection training process with newly hired or promoted managers.
- Ensures all candidates and new hires have a welcoming, positive and engaging experience including a thorough interview experience, welcome packages, etc.
- Assists hiring manager and Talent Coordinator with creating an in-depth onboarding plan for the new team members first 30-90 days on the job.
- Prepares reports and analytics on recruiting functions.
- Assists with creating and developing various activities to build staff morale and maintain team atmosphere.
- Provides assistance and backup to the Talent Specialist in relation to benefits administration, leave of absence, annual merit increase process and other duties as necessary.
- Volunteers in various activities sponsored by UMCU within the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor communities; occasional or limited onsite responsibilities needed to serve the team and membership.
- Maintains knowledge of and follows all credit union policies and procedures regarding BSA, OFAC, U.S. Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, S.A.F.E Act, CFPB regulations and Customer Identification Program
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years previous recruiting experience including sourcing, interviewing and selecting candidates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of team members and management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- The environment is typical of an office atmosphere. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The team member is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
