Lead Software Engineer

Ready Signal is an AI-powered external data platform that automates the sourcing, transformation, and deployment of curated external data into business intelligence, reporting, and predictive models. We help organizations build more accurate forecasts and faster insights by integrating weather, economic, demographic, and other control variables directly into their workflows.

We are a bootstrapped and rapidly growing SaaS company with a passionate leadership team and a clear product-market fit. Now, we’re looking for a hands-on senior developer who wants to play a pivotal role in scaling the platform and shaping the future of the technology function.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced software engineer who’s ready to take the next step in their career, not just to write great code, but to help architect the future of a high-impact data platform. We’re looking for someone who:

• Is excited to get their hands dirty solving real product and platform challenges
• Has the maturity and experience to take ownership of backend architecture and operations
• Sees the opportunity to grow into a technical leadership/CTO role as the company scales

• Own and improve the current infrastructure. Enhancing scalability, reliability, and performance
• Identify technical debt, triage issues, and deliver break/fix improvements with limited oversight
• Translate business and customer needs into technical requirements and implementation plans
• Work with external contract developers on new feature modules, overseeing integration and quality
• Collaborate with product, customer success, and leadership teams to ensure roadmap feasibility
• Help define technical hiring needs and infrastructure strategy as we scale
• Act as a mentor and future technical leader as the engineering team grows

• 8+ years of software development experience, ideally across both product and infrastructure
• Strong backend experience with object-oriented languages (e.g., PHP/Laravel, Python, Java, or C#)
• Comfort working with AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3) and Linux environments
• Solid working knowledge of Python and the ability to scale usage as platform needs expand.
• Experience with MySQL, Docker, and general Dev Ops principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills and business-oriented judgment
• Experience in small company or startup environments strongly preferred
• Eagerness to step into a long-term strategic and hands-on leadership role
