Type: Contract (4 months)
Location: Ann Arbor, MI – Hybrid, 3 days onsite

Position OverviewWe are seeking an Intermediate Application Developer with strong .NET experience to support and enhance internal, web-based business applications. This role focuses primarily on maintaining and improving an existing enterprise application ecosystem rather than developing new systems from the ground up.
You will work in a mixed technical and functional capacity-writing code, gathering requirements, creating documentation, and engaging with faculty, staff, and departmental stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain internal web applications
- Work within a mature enterprise environment built on .NET / IIS / Oracle
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, such as:
- Scope and requirements documents
- Data flow diagrams
- UI wireframes
- QA and test plans
- Manage assigned components of larger projects, including:
- Functional scoping and planning
- Project timelines and delivery schedules
- Installation support and light end-user training
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and business units to:
- Gather and clarify requirements
- Analyze existing business processes
- Recommend system or process improvements
- Create functional and technical specifications for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET
, including object-oriented programming - 3-5 years of professional software development experience
- Experience working in an enterprise-level environment
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops tools
- Proficiency with CSS for UI layout and styling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (stakeholder-facing role)
- Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
- Background supporting internal-facing business applications
- Mid-level developer or programmer/analyst
- Comfortable enhancing, maintaining, and troubleshooting existing systems
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Professional, reliable, and process-oriented
- Experience in enterprise environments is essential
- Strong stakeholder interaction skills
- Not a fit for candidates who specialize exclusively in backend development with no UI or user-facing exposure
- A technical skills test may be required during the interview process
- Occasional flexibility needed for early morning, evening, or on-call support
