Job Summary
The Michigan Medicine Financial Systems team provides the leadership, oversight, and technical support for the suite of financial products, applications, and datasets used by the Finance Organization for financial reporting, planning, analytics, and decision-making. The team is responsible for delivering on‑time enterprise‑level reporting and business intelligence systems, managing concurrent high‑visibility projects, guiding data stewardship, and supporting institutional objectives.
The Financial Systems Analyst’s primary focus is on the production administration of the solutions the team manages and all underlying data sources and processes to support them. The role is responsible for providing timely, accessible, and accurate data according to the Finance department’s defined timelines.
Responsibilities Monthly Production Validations & Change Management Process (40%)- Ensure data quality and consistency throughout all production applications including Finance BI and Oracle EPM Cloud Applications.
- Process monthly hierarchy and statistics change management in all applications.
- Analyze requests for adherence to the one version of truth philosophy and impact on application and technical processes.
- Partner with requestors on monthly hierarchy changes and coordinate documentation.
- Implement changes in test environment and migrate to production.
- Communicate monthly changes to requestors, stakeholders, and the Financial Systems team.
- Tie out various financial system datasets back to source systems monthly in Test and Production environments.
- Perform Monthly Unit of Service (UOS) static and metric validations.
- Manage all Test and Production data tie‑outs for monthly and annual processing.
- Manage all monthly report delivery solutions, including distribution, automation, and development of enhancements.
- Build reports and queries for internal and external customers using Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Data Visualizer, and Narrative Reporting.
- Work with Solutions Architects on monthly and annual tie‑out processing and implement process improvements.
- Apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of financial systems data sets.
- Collaborate with vendor technical teams, internal enterprise architecture, and application infrastructure teams to resolve technical issues and understand system dependencies.
- Act as back‑up for production Financial Systems Analyst teammates during month‑end, quarter‑end, and annual reporting tasks.
- Prepare and conduct comprehensive testing and validation procedures.
- Continuously review month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end validation processes for completeness, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Integrate new processes into documentation and training.
- Manage the inventory of system documentation and instructions with searchable dynamic solutions.
- Maintain training and end‑user documentation.
- Maintain and schedule testing of application disaster recovery across all production systems.
- Create and maintain data governance documentation including data dictionaries, data/process flow diagrams, and data model fact matrices.
- Serve as the primary person for ad‑hoc analysis and end‑user requests to understand data flows, dependencies, and appropriate use of finance‑presented data.
- Conduct peer and end‑user training.
- Support special projects within Financial Systems and Michigan Medicine Finance.
- Support compliance efforts across the organization.
- Assist with other projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide helpdesk and end‑user support.

- BA/BS degree.
- 1+ years of financial systems, data analytics, or financial analysis experience.
- 1–5 years for intermediate level.
- 5–7 years for senior level.
- 7+ years for lead level.
- Detailed knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with data modeling and relational databases.
