Kinsa is recruiting for a FSQA Manager / Bakery goods
Location: Traverse City area, MI (Onsite)
Our client is a thriving artisan bakery with a rich history spanning over 30 years. Known for producing high-quality baked goods and a strong company culture. Seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality Leader to develop and oversee their food safety program while addressing quality issues. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape a comprehensive food safety system from the ground up, ensuring compliance, consistency, and growth.

- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive food safety program aligned with FSMA and HACCP standards.
- Build and oversee prerequisite programs such as GMPs, sanitation, allergen management, pest control, and foreign material prevention.
- Lead third-party audits (e.g., SQF) and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the head baker and production team to troubleshoot quality issues and implement continuous improvements.
- Establish traceability, recall readiness, and testing protocols to ensure compliance and rapid response capabilities.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience leading food safety programs in a food manufacturing environment, preferably bakery or grain-based products.
- HACCP certification with direct responsibility for hazard analysis, validation, and corrective actions.
- FSMA Preventive Controls knowledge; PCQI certification strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to prepare for and lead third-party audits (e.g., SQF, BRCGS, IFS).
- Experience managing food safety documentation, traceability systems, and conducting internal audits.
- Strong leadership skills to develop and mentor staff, with an on-site presence in a production environment.
