The Welding Team Lead has a critical role overseeing production operations in assigned areas, leading a team of welding personnel, ensuring efficient, safe, high‑quality production, and manufacturing processes. This position plays a key role in achieving company goals for productivity, quality, and employee engagement in the manufacturing environment while promoting customer satisfaction through all stages of the process.

  • Full‑time position:
    Monday‑Thursday 6 am 3:30 pm, Friday 6 am 10 am
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Supervisor responsible to train, mentor, and motivate team members to maintain a productive and positive work environment.
  • Train and coach team members on operational and task‑specific processes, safety protocols, and proper equipment use; assist with individual skill development.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations; conduct regular checks to maintain a safe workplace and report potential hazards to management.
  • Investigate and report all incidents, accidents, safety and personnel‑related issues.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews, address performance issues, help diffuse conflicts, and foster teamwork.
  • Oversee and perform daily production activities, assign individual tasks to team members, and ensure schedules are met to support operational goals and customer expectations.
  • Serve as a primary communication channel for the flow of information from weekly production meetings, daily morning meetings, and provide feedback on risks and opportunities from the production staff.
  • Ensure the assigned production areas are clean, organized, and staged with the correct parts, supplies, equipment, and information to complete tasks on time and in order of priority.
  • Streamline operations and improve efficiency by using data to reduce downtime, scrap, and waste.
  • Monitor initial and in‑process quality, enforce standards, maintain records, and implement corrective actions to minimize defects and meet all customer requirements.
  • Assist with technical aspects of complex and critical projects.
  • Verify that all parts meet quality standards, specifically when new team members are assigned or new products are manufactured for the first time.
  • Perform root cause analysis with assistance from the Quality Manager when problems arise.
  • Address and resolve minor operational, process, and equipment related issues.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct preventive maintenance on production equipment and escalate needed repairs to management for urgent diagnosis and resolution.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience / Personal Attributes
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing or production role, minimum of 12 years in a supervisory/team lead role preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in area of primary responsibility, willing to step in and perform needed functions when required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing blueprints and instructions.
  • Team player with a positive ‘can do’ approach, and who wants to solve customer’s problems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good attitude, hands on, organized, dedicated, dependable.
  • Effective time management with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, general office software (MS Excel and Word).
