GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

As a Service Center Operator you are responsible for the operation of machinery in the Service Center department. You are responsible for the inspection of the product to ensure a quality product is being delivered to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a role model for accountability and positivity.
  • Set up and operation of all Service Center equipment and machines.
  • Quality inspection of all products slit or sheared in the department.
  • Maintain safe working environment by keeping assigned work area clean and organized.
  • Cross-train, learn and support all equipment and processes in the Service Center department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to working in other departments.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • The ability to measure and record width, burr, gauge, length, squareness, flatness, and visual metal being processed.
  • The ability to read and record micrometer readings.
  • The ability to read and record caliper readings.
  • The ability to read and record tape measure readings.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others respectfully and professionally.
  • Ability to read, interpret and comply with company documents such as:
    Safety rules, work policies, procedures, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to follow procedures consistently and with extreme accuracy.
  • Strong desire to learn and the ability to apply knowledge to job tasks.
  • Basic computer operating skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
