SummaryInstall all finish components, including wire, hoses, axles, tires, decals, and related parts, on trailer chassis per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Installation of suspension and running gear components, landing gear assembly and components, wheel components and tires, brake, and air components, electrical, lighting and wiring components, mud flaps, VIN plates and any other prescribed decals and/or safety components on trailer.
- Operate and/or use related equipment and tools which may include hoists, slings, hand tools, and a tape measure.
- Knowledge of and ability to use torque wrenches to adjust parts and equipment, or install parts and equipment, following established specifications and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply inspection techniques (e.g., formalized inspection standards, inspections instructions, best practices).
- Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures.
- Maintain level of work performance in accordance with Pratt standards and/or the job order specifications.
- Perform or assist in other assigned duties as qualified.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Good Attendance is requisite for being able to perform the essential functions of this job
- Must be dependable, open to change and new ideas, adaptable to new situations and challenges, and able to use time wisely.
- Must be able to work independently and work respectfully and professionally with others in a team environment with reasonable instructions, training, and supervision.
- Must be able to complete tasks with attention to all areas involved, including noticing inconsistencies or faults in parts, equipment, or production processes to help prevent faulty products from leaving the facility.
- Must be able to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Relevant and recent experience demonstrating mechanical aptitude is required.
- Trailer assembly and/or heavy equipment manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 50-60 hours per week.
