Role Overview :
The Powder Floor Production Staff role is to support and facilitate production on the powder coating line. You will be responsible for all stages of the coating operation, including but not limited to prepping parts, coating parts, and packing parts. This role requires a keen eye for detail, adherence to safety standards, and efficient time management. You will be exposed to various tasks in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
● Safety: ○ Follow all provided safety SOP ○ Complete all compliance training assigned to you by manager ○ Use PPE at all times ■ Respirators in powder booths ■ Steel toe boots/shoes ■ Hearing protection ■ Eye protection
● Machine Operation
● Operate equipment at each stage of production including but not limited to: ○ Parts washer & immersion washer ■ Including safe operation of the bin tilter ○ Rinse bay, power washer, sealer, etc. ○ Load & Unload the ovens safely and efficiently ○ Operate Powder Coat guns ○ Package parts securely to ensure no damage during shipping
● Report any issues with equipment to management immediately
● Follow SOP for each job, whether given verbally or posted in Steelhead
● Prepping Parts for Powder Coating
● Safely Operate Forklift
● Quality Control
● Inspect parts before and after they’ve been painted
● Report any defects or issues with parts/powder to management
● Cleaning and Maintenance
● Maintain inventory of necessary tools and materials by communicating needs to the production manager
● Keep work areas clean and organized, including tools and equipment.
● Perform maintenance tasks assigned to you on Steelhead
● Documentation and Reporting:
● Record Keeping: ○ Maintain accurate time data of parts utilizing our ERP system. ○ Confirm real part counts with part counts on Steelhead and alert management or discrepancies
● Communication: ○ Report any discrepancies or damage found in parts or finished products to your direct supervisor.
● Collaboration
● Work effectively as part of a team to meet production goals and deadlines
● Take advantage or your and others strengths to be the most efficient team possible
● Understand and uphold the rules and guidelines set forth in the employee handbook
● Continuous Improvement
● Seek advancement opportunities and communicate personal goals with the HR manager or Production Manager Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred but not required.
● Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
● Basic understanding of safety protocols in an industrial setting.
● Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
● Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, if necessary. Compensation
● Competitive hourly wage $20-$25/hr starting rate with a raise after 90 days.
