Laser Operator at Epiroc!This Laser Operator is responsible for set-up and operation of laser cutting machines to produce products meeting customer quality requirements. This individual will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the ability to multi-task is essential.
Work Type (Onsite)This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship
Shift Timings2 openings! One for first shift and one for second shift.
Responsibilities- Operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements
- Monitor machine cutting performance and utilization
- Understand machine setup, including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials
- Understand start-up and shutdown for laser machines
- Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed
- Perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications
- Check the quality of the product machined and notify the supervisor of process issues
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation for problem solving and analytical purposes.
- Preferred previous experience operating laser machines or similar equipment
- Ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measures, calipers, and hand tools
- Ability to operate and navigate in a Windows-based computer environment
- Previous experience operating laser cutting equipment or similar manufacturing machinery.
- Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and hand tools.
