CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist
at Epiroc!

We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist to join our team at our Dexter, MI facility. In this role, you will set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines to manufacture precision components critical to high-durability equipment.

Work Type (Onsite):This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings: 1st Shift | Monday - Thursday, 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM (OT on Fridays and Saturdays)

Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines according to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Precision Inspection: Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges) to ensure tight tolerances are met.
• Program Adjustments: Read and interpret G-code/M-code; perform tool offset adjustments and basic program edits at the machine control as needed.
• Tooling & Material Management: Load raw materials, set up tooling, select appropriate inserts, and monitor tool wear to prevent defects.
• Maintenance & Safety: Conduct routine machine maintenance (coolant checks, chip removal, lubrication) while adhering to 5S organizational standards and shop safety protocols.

Knowledge/

Education:

• Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Measurement Proficiency: Proficient with precision tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
• Control Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC machine controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak) and basic G-code/M-code troubleshooting.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform manual tasks requiring dexterity, and regularly lift up to 40 lbs.
