Position Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan (GSHOM), one of Michigan’s premier youth-serving organizations. The CEO partners with the GSHOM Board of Trustees to set strategic direction, ensure financial sustainability, grow membership, and expand the organization’s impact across the state. The CEO leads council operations, fundraising, and community engagement while serving as the primary ambassador to donors, volunteers, partners, and Girl Scouts of the USA.
The CEO leads the development and execution of the council’s strategic goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, values, policies, and standards - both of Girl Scouts of the USA and GSHOM.

Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the council.
- Lead a high-performing executive leadership team.
- Partner with the GSHOM Board of Trustees to advance the council’s objectives.
- Drive financial stability and fundraising success.
- Advance membership growth and program excellence.
- Strengthen relationships with community, nonprofit, corporate, and national partners.
- Represent the council publicly and advocate for the Girl Scout mission.
- Register as an active member of Girl Scouts of the USA annually.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Senior executive leadership experience in a nonprofit, membership-based, or mission-driven organization.
- Proven success in fundraising, financial oversight, and strategic leadership.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel and to work outside the normal workday.
- Experience with youth-serving organizations or Girl Scouts preferred.
