Minimum rate of pay: $35.64 PLUS Daily PAY
Position PurposeThe position supports adult medicine patients admitted from both St. Joe's and U of M Emergency Departments. Working in Specialty Centers, you will receive competitive compensation and a full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Life Insurance, and Disability.
Required Qualifications EducationGraduation from a school of nursing that allows the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
Licensure- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- BLS.
- ACLS required for the following departments:
Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply.
- Graduation from accredited nursing program.
- Effective Jan. 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree, or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age‑specific needs.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to perform the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.

- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized plans of care.
- Use teach‑back methodology to educate patients and families.
- Actively seek to prevent potential hospital‑acquired conditions.
- Effectively communicate patient status, priority goals, and interventions during consultations, rounds, and handoffs.
- Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
