Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience with PICU cross-coverage and night shift availability.
Responsibilities- Primary assignment is in a 59-bed Level IV NICU, with potential cross-staffing in a 30-bed PICU as needed
- NICU specializes in care of premature newborns and infants with complex medical, surgical, and unusual anomalies
- PICU is a multi-acuity unit serving patients from newborn to young adult in partnership with a wide range of pediatric specialties
- Advanced technology in use includes ECMO, Nitric Oxide therapy, High Frequency Ventilation, whole body/selective head cooling (hypothermic neuroprotection), and CRRT
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Provides acute-phase through recovery nursing care to NICU patients, with a family-centered care approach including individualized family support and discharge education
- PICU care is delivered through a multidisciplinary model with family presence encouraged during rounds, nursing report, and overnight stays
- Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of NICU RN experience required; PICU experience also required
- Preferred: 2 years of combined experience across PICU, PCTU, NICU, and moderate care settings
- Proficiency with NICU IV therapy required
- Experience attending high-risk deliveries required
- At least 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a supervisor
