Job Description
Pre/Post-operative Staff Nurse – Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- Patient admission and comprehensive pre‑operative care.
- Immediate post‑operative care and stabilization for return to the home environment.
- Provide planned, skilled nursing care during pre‑procedure, procedure, and recovery periods.
- Assess, surveil, and administer physician orders; prepare patients for procedures.
- Provide nursing care during the procedure phase, acting as patient advocate.
- Answer patient needs and assist the physician.
- Continuous surveillance for early recognition and immediate response to medical complications.
- Consult and coordinate with health‑care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑operative education.
- Serve as communication liaison to family and operating team members.
- Take and monitor patients’ vital signs; ensure correct patient and procedure.
- Prepare and administer medications orally, subcutaneously, or IV; report adverse reactions.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards and protocols.
- Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner.
- Prepare operating room for patient/procedure and initiate corrective action when monitoring shows adverse symptomatology.
- Monitor patients’ physical and emotional well‑being during the care continuum.
- Initiate patient education plan, teaching self‑administration of medication and post‑treatment home care.
- Perform other position‑related duties as assigned.
Monday – Friday, 8‑hour day shifts. Start at 6:30 a.m. or 7:15 a.m., must be flexible.

- At least one year of operating room experience.
