Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will play a crucial role in the recovery of patients following anesthesia administration. Working under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, you will provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients as they emerge from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the recovery process.

- Assistance with Patient Care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Michigan.
- Five (5) or more years of LPN experience in a hospital or long term care facility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required through the AHA.
Previous experience in a hospital setting.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push and lift throughout the shift.
- Capable of lifting and moving patients with assistance as needed.
- Visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patients and interpret medical equipment alarms.
- Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day.

Hours:
40 hours/week
Shift: Evenings; 10 hour shifts; 10:00 am to 8:30 pm, and may include scheduled weekend shifts.

Union AffiliationThis position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U‑M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP).
Background ScreeningMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre‑employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer.
