Locums - Critical Care NP​/PA Michigan

Overview

Locums opportunity with a well-respected healthcare system seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist with inpatient coverage in central Michigan. Start ASAP for maternity leave coverage.

• Provide inpatient critical care coverage in an adult ICU setting as part of the care team.
• Perform or assist with procedures and management including moderate sedation, lumbar punctures, endotracheal intubation, paracentesis, thoracentesis, ventilator management, chest tube placement, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines.
• Care for tracheostomy patients and manage emergent tension pneumothorax as needed.
• Support patients with external pacing as required.
• Utilize EMR systems (EPIC) and Dragon for documentation and order entry.

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (active MI license required).
• DEA registration; AHA-ACLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience.
• Experience with external pacing is required.
• Proficient with EMR (EPIC) and Dragon for documentation and orders.
• Recent case logs: 50 within the past 12 months.
• Inpatient setting experience preferred and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
