Registered NURSE (Ambulatory Care Services- South Main Ortho Clinic: Orthopedics

• Provide nursing care to the adult and adolescent orthopedic population
• Tele-health medicine to include, but are not limited to, triage calls from patients, families, clinicians, and other healthcare team members.
• Pre-operative teaching, counseling, and coordinating care for orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Post-operative telephone consultations.
• Assist with a variety of procedures and tasks, clinical, administrative, or otherwise, to maintain patient flow in clinic and support assistive staff as needed including but not limited to wound and cast assessment.
• Candidate must be able to perform duties independently, be highly motivated and flexible in order to address the needs of patients, families and members of the health care team.
• To provide clinical support for the South Main Ortho Clinic, as well as to the wider CMC group of privileged providers throughout UMH, regardless of location of service or specialty.

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education, self-management and coaching related to health promotion of the patient and family
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills through use of the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities
• Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives
• Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals
• Exhibits high standards of personal and professional conduct as measured by interviews, references, and performance evaluations
• Demonstrated accountability and dependability including good attendance and punctuality as evidenced by references and evaluations

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN).
• Three (3) years (within the last five (5) years) of Adult orthopedic surgical RN experience.

• Surgical ambulatory care experience
• Experience with care coordination and managing complex patient populations.
• Recent (in the past 3 years) tele-health management skills
• BSN
• Demonstrated excellence in communication skills; both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated accountability to Departmental requirements
• Demonstrated customer service skills and ability with conflict management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, prioritize duties, multi-task and problem solve with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated flexibility in accepting changing clinical assignments on short notice.
• Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills, using electronic medical record, along with Microsoft Office and calendaring

• Hourly range for Registered Nurses $41.78-$64.81/ hour
