Position Purpose
The Patient Care Technician (PCT), under the direction of a registered nurse, provides direct patient care that considers age‑specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. The PCT helps establish and maintain a clean, safe patient‑care environment that supports patient and family wellbeing through relationship‑based care.
Shift InformationFull‑time and part‑time positions are available. Shift options include 10:30pm‑7:00am and 7pm‑7am. All team members must work every other weekend and four holidays per year (at least one winter holiday).
Requirements- High‑school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of direct‑care experience (acute or long‑term) or completion of a CENA or PCT course.
- Student nurses must have finished the nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.
- Assist patients in completing activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulating with assistive devices, and feeding/menu selection.
- Collect and send specimens, including blood and blood cultures; insert and remove peripheral IV catheters.
- Record patient information and required data in the appropriate documentation areas to meet compliance requirements.
- Participate in training programs designed to prepare staff for successful performance.
