American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring EPIC experience and an active Michigan RN license.
Details- Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital
- Primarily adult patient population
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Shift options include day/evening rotator (7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p) or straight evenings
- Weekend call required in 8-hour blocks (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a)
- Up to 4 weeknight calls and 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- No floating required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active Michigan RN license required in-hand at time of consideration (compact license not accepted)
- Current BLS and CAC certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
- General OR and Trauma experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- 2 supervisory references required (charge nurse references not accepted)
- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Plastics, Trauma, Bariatrics, and Robotics
- Experience with robotic surgical systems (Da Vinci, Mako) is a plus
- Exposure to trauma cases including gunshot/stab wounds, MVAs, burns, and amputations
- Flu vaccination required starting 10/31/25 through end of Winter 2026 with no exemptions; allergy-free option available for those with allergies
- COVID vaccination not required
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration with no RTO allowed the first week of contract
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Perm staff may return as travelers after 1 year
- Candidates previously employed by the client facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Traveler pairs are not accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No pre-hire training modules required; modules completed onsite during orientation
