Requirements
- Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active Michigan license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- BLS certification (must be maintained); ACLS preferred
- Previous endocrinology, primary care, or internal medicine experience preferred
Duties & Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Providing direct patient care for individuals with endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and other hormonal conditions
- Performing patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and managing follow-up care in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Ordering, interpreting, and monitoring diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Educating patients and families on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Documenting patient encounters and treatment plans in Epic EMR
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and departmental projects
- Supporting Trinity Health IHA Medical Groups mission of improving community health
