• Provide expert nursing care to gastroenterology patients in the outpatient clinics.
• Provide telephone triage, patient teaching, direct patient care including injections, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments.
• Provide functional supervision to allied health staff.
• Assist with patient flow as necessary and appropriate.
• Work with licensed providers to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses.
• Participate as a professional member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Teach patients and families pertinent information regarding the patient condition and treatment plans.
• Coordinate infusion therapies.
• Assist in orientation of team members as appropriate, including observation and participation of patient care activities.
• Actively participate and support performance improvement activities related to self, clinic, department, and institutional goals and objectives.
• Take live patient calls associated with Nurse Answer line.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Demonstrated ability of effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities on clinic, department, and institutional goals/objectives.
• Demonstrated accountability and dependability, e.g., completion of work, mandatories, goal setting within established timelines.
• Excellent attendance record as evidenced by references and evaluations.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to seek constructive approaches to resolving workplace issues.
• Demonstrated willingness to support and participate in change based on unit, department, and institutional goals and objectives.

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN).
• Three (3) years, within the last five years of RN experience caring for the adult gastroenterology or Hepatology patient population.
• Three (3) years within the last five years as a registered nurse, caring for adults with acute or chronic conditions in an ambulatory care, inpatient unit, or GI/Hepatology procedural setting.
• Proficiency with MiChart management and documentation in electronic health record, e.g., Epic as indicated by interviews, references, and or performance evaluation in past 3 out of 5 years RN experience.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidence by resume, annual evaluations, and references.

• 1 year, within the last five years, caring for the hepatology patient population.
• Ambulatory Care Experience with telephone triage/symptom management within the last two (2) years.
• BSN
