Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
Full‑time, 40 hr/week, 3:00pm‑1:30am, Monday‑Sunday with rotating weekends and holidays. Hourly rate: $17.40+.
Essential FunctionsPerforming over 220,000 tests per year, the Micro lab at Trinity Health is one of the largest in the state of Michigan. This state‑of‑the‑art microbiology lab offers the opportunity to utilize your experience and skills while learning and growing within this unique field. Located in Trinity Health Ann Arbor, the lab is centrally located to the art, culture, academics, entertainment and activities that Ann Arbor provides.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma.
- Two years of college coursework completed (40‑60 credit hours) with emphasis in a science curriculum or equivalent; 12 hours of science credits preferred (must provide valid transcripts).
- Associates of Science, Applied Science (or similar) preferred.
Perform specified waived and/or moderately complex testing and assess/investigate integrity of test results per CLIA testing personnel responsibilities. Perform, review and maintain quality control records and seek assistance for resolution of issues. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment used in performing job functions. Perform proficiency testing per standard patient testing protocol.
Specimen Processing TasksProcess and evaluate orders and specimens for acceptability. Maintain specimen identification and integrity through entire process. Prioritize and distribute specimens to appropriate section for analysis. Prepare specimens to be sent to testing laboratory.
Clerical and Service TasksAnswer large number of telephone inquiries. Fax, mail and deliver reports to appropriate location. Maintain and file laboratory records and reports.
Additional DutiesCheck orders and place test orders as required. Collect and receive patient samples if required. Load specimens on automated analyzer as needed. Perform culture plating techniques and reagent preparation as required. Restock area and assist Medical Laboratory Scientist in the lab.
