Biomedical Engineer Tech 2 Clinical Engineer

Job Summary

With minimal supervision, repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment and support systems of varying complexity at Michigan Medicine. This is an afternoon shift position, with the primary responsibility being preventative maintenance and repairs in UH, CVC, and CW ORs. Equipment responsibilities include OR tables and lights, infusion pumps, Bair Huggers, t-pumps, exercise equipment, beds, patient monitoring systems, TV systems, and other equipment as assigned.

Work performed is documented in the work order database system called AIMS. Additional duties include identifying and preparing parts and materials necessary for repairs and preventative maintenance on assigned devices. Cross-training for other Biomedical Engineering Technicians for expanded backup support is also required. Work hours are Monday
- Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The primary job site is at the Michigan Medicine main campus. Technicians must have a valid Michigan driver's license and be able to drive a motor vehicle.

• An Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, or equivalent Military training, is required.
• Knowledge and experience with advanced analog and digital electronics.
• Minimum of three years of experience in repairing and maintaining medical equipment, preferably in a hospital environment.
• Valid Michigan driver's license and be able to drive a motor vehicle.

This position is Monday
- Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the U-M Skilled Trades Union, Inc., which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
