Overview
Position Overview:
Skilled position as an experienced Quality Control Technician involving supervision of Lab Technicians along with taking samples, performing lab tests and reporting results.
- Support Safety-Labs are adhering to safety policies
- Adhering to QC Plan
- Communicate with QC Regional Manager and Technical Director daily to review results and any issues throughout the day
- Safely and efficiently collect samples for testing
- Oversee and direct Lab techs to perform testing as needed
- Have a working knowledge of MDOT and governing agency job specs
- Ability to perform test procedures relative to job specs in a timely and accurate manner
- Promptly report non-compliant test results to QC Regional Manager and Technical Director
- Maintain daily record of test results, prepare daily reports and send out
- Perform daily housekeeping operations and maintain a clean lab environment
- Properly follow all company policies and regulations for a safe working environment
- Communicate with plant operators to discuss results and address changes if needed
- Daily Moistures
- Calibration of Lab Equipment
- Cut and test Cores and communicate results to Density Tech and QC Team
- Daily Random Numbers for projects
- Obtain Daily Asphalt Binder Samples and label properly
- Perform other duties as assigned by Technical Director
Minimum of 5 years in QC Technician role.
High School diploma
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Strong computer and mathematical skills and problem solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to write correspondence
- Ability to adapt to unexpected changes quickly and get a strong game plan on how to address it
- QA/QC MDOT Certification
- Tim Murphy Superpave Mix Design Certification
- Strong attention to details
This position requires walking, standing, bending, twisting, sitting and lifting
