First Article Inspector | Mason, MI

Salary: $56,000 - $83,000 (depending on experience)

We partner with organizations in Mason that are looking for experienced First Article Inspectors to lead initiatives and improve quality processes.

• Perform comprehensive first article inspections (FAI) according to AS9102 standards and customer requirements.
• Verify dimensional accuracy of components using a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure product conformance.
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly in FAI reports and relevant quality records.
• Identify and document non‑conformances, initiating corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
• 3+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on First Article Inspection (FAI).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM).
• Strong understanding of AS9102 FAI requirements and other relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying non‑conformances.

• Additional certifications or training.
