Currently, we are looking to add an Associate Scientist to the team:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform diverse organic syntheses, purifications, and characterizations of compounds.
- Isolate and identify desired product from complex mixtures.
- Prepare accurate and complete QC data packets prior to compound submission.
- Write SOPs and transfer standardized products to internal Chemistry Core team.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Report status of work to direct supervisor on a stepwise basis.
- Read scientific literature with accuracy and understanding.
- May hold specialized essential duties within the functions of the department.
Requirements:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field. - Experience:
3+ years of relevant lab experience. - Strong computer skills and proficiency with chemistry related software.
- A fundamental understanding of chemistry and familiarity with analytical techniques for product purification and characterization.
- Ability to perform and interpret analytical data, including but not limited to: 1 H and 13 C NMR, mass spec, UV, and HPLC.
- Ability to complete complex lab calculations.
- Basic understanding of and compliance with laboratory safety.
- Availability to work on-site during normal business hours.
