As a Bakery team member, you will create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintain a safe and clean environment, assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, monitor quality assurance standards, and demonstrate Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

• Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use all kitchen equipment per company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and follow cooking/baking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipe.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies.
• Understand store layout and locate products quickly.
• Stay current with special ads.
• Maintain knowledge of products and provide suggestions.
• Monitor inventory conditions and report discrepancies.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Respond to customer questions with a positive attitude.
• Practice preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Must perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
