Responsibilities- Bag groceries at checkout for customers, ensuring at least five items per bag when possible and protecting items from damage.
- Follow best bagging practices using reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
- Assist customers in removing merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
- Offer help to customers loading bags into their cars.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and restock merchandise on shelves.
- Inform customers of grocery specials.
- Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts for return to designated areas.
- Clean spills, pick up trash inside the store and parking lot, and maintain clean interior and exterior areas.
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
- Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions or incidents, and notifying store management.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
- Create an environment in which customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.
