Job Summary
The Bakery Combo Clerk supports the Bakery Lead in achieving sales and profit goals while delivering an excellent customer experience. This role functions as the primary customer contact, handles cash and POS transactions, prepares and stocks baked goods, and maintains a clean, orderly bakery department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide friendly, helpful customer service and resolve customer concerns.
- Handle cash, operate POS systems, and process transactions accurately.
- Receive, price, stock, and rotate products to ensure quality and inventory control.
- Prepare, package, and stock bakery items; transport baked goods to preparation or storage areas.
- Maintain mandatory cleanliness, safety, and health regulations; report equipment malfunctions.
- Handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy to control losses.
- Stay informed of in‑store promotions and policies; assist in merchandising and product displays.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
- Previous retail or customer‑service experience is a plus.
- Basic math and cash‑handling proficiency.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer‑service skills.
- Basic computer skills for POS operation.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and manage multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally; repetitive motions; manual dexterity for cash handling; tolerance to hot and cooler environments.
- Full‑time, 8‑hour shifts; weekends, evenings, and holidays may be required.
- Indoor, climate‑controlled environment with exposure to hot (ovens, warmers) and cooler (refrigeration) temperatures.
- Moderate to high noise levels from bakery equipment; continuous customer and team interaction.
- Dress code: professional, company‑issued shirts, name tag, shoes with safety toes and non‑slip soles; hats or hair nets as required.

Pay and ComplianceBase pay range: $16.90 – $21.50 per hour. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Pay transparency applies as required by California law.
