Role OverviewThe Sales Account Specialist supports existing customers by troubleshooting issues, providing data and guidance to the sales team, managing sales tools, and analyzing trends. The role includes identifying and pursuing upsell or cross‑sell opportunities and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Essential Functions- Contribute to customer retention by strengthening relationships through account management and maintenance.
- Respond to customer requests, resolve complaints, and maintain quality service.
- Develop and enhance business partnerships by building trust and focusing on long‑term relationships, retention, and growth.
- Manage regular cadence of customer soft touches to keep clients engaged.
- Monitor account performance indicators to ensure buying levels maintain or grow.
- Support Account Executive in preparing for customer business reviews by pulling accurate data, preparing reports, and producing analysis materials.
- Identify and pursue upsell or cross‑sell opportunities.
- Partner with Account Executive to analyze pricing data from industry standards, sales trends, and competitors.
- Assist in identifying effective marketing strategies related to pricing.
- Escalate sales leads to Account Executives and Business Development representatives.
- Support Account Executives with administrative duties including master data updates, free goods administration, returns processing, new account set‑ups, change of ownerships, order entry, and more.
- Support educational events and webinars and drive attendance.
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related major, or equivalent experience.
- Fundamental understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
- Analytical and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic business acumen.
- Strong sense of urgency and goal‑oriented attitude; self‑motivated, persistent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn new systems.
- Preferred:
- Associate degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related major.
- At least 1 year of proven work experience as a sales support professional.
- Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP) certification.
- Customer Care Professional certification.
- Dental industry experience.
- Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities.
Ability to sit or stand while operating office equipment for 6‑8 hours per day; work in an office environment either onsite or remotely; operate a computer or other office device up to 8 hours per day. Frequent communication with customers and staff.
Environmental FactorsThis position is in an office environment with desks, chairs, computers, and other equipment.
Travel and On‑CallMay require some local travel.
CompensationThe potential compensation range for this role is $25.72 - $33.45 per hour.
