  • 10 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in clean energy policy and regulation in the U.S. Central region (including Indiana), relating to electric utilities, rate design, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of key stakeholders, issues, and market trends within Indiana, MISO, and PJM Interconnection footprints.
  • Ability to solve nebulous multi-stakeholder issues and grow in ambiguity, with strong executive presence, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in driving desired outcomes in energy regulatory and legislative arenas across the U.S. Central region, particularly within large stakeholder coalitions.
About the job

In this role, you will be at the forefront of Google's ambitious infrastructure expansion and clean energy goals in the U.S. Central region. Focusing closely on Indiana and the Mid-Continent Independent System Operator (MISO) footprint, you will lead complex energy supply negotiations and shape regional regulatory policies. You will work cross-functionally to develop market solutions that guarantee reliable, cost-effective, and carbon-free power for our rapidly growing data center portfolio.

You will act as a key advocate for Google, partnering directly with utilities, policymakers, and industry coalitions to drive grid reliability and structural market advancements. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $176000 - $256000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Lead evaluations of energy regulatory and policy environments in the U.S. Central region, focusing on Indiana, MISO, and PJM. Monitor industry trends and emerging tariffs to assess opportunities for Google’s data centers.
  • Develop energy market solutions for Google’s supply needs in the Central U.S., designing engagement strategies before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) and within MISO/PJM.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Global Infrastructure, Public Policy) to develop regional energy positions, communicating our infrastructure, grid protection, and carbon-reduction goals.
  • Lead energy advocacy with MISO/PJM committees, trade associations, and local allies to advance Google’s clean energy, grid reliability, and interests in Indiana.
  • Drive energy supply negotiations in Indiana and the broader U.S. Central region, working closely with electric utilities.
